Member Profiles
We still need more member
profiles!
This is another way for IMC-MI
members to begin to know each other and perhaps identify
opportunities for growing our consulting practices
through joint projects. However, to be featured in
the newsletter you need to (1) be a member of IMC-USA
and (2) need to provide a brief write up and a
digital picture. It is each consultants
responsibility to get this information to dschumaker@schuco.com
if they want to increase their visibility by being
in the newsletter. |

February 20th IMC
MI Meeting
We will be trying something new in February!
We will meet at 6:00 pm on Monday night, February
20th for an "evening" (dinner)
meeting at:
Italian Epicure 42050 Grand River Novi, MI
48375 248.349.7770
We will be
holding a roundtable discussion on the topic of "How
Business Development Activities Change As Your Firm
Matures." It was recognized that with the diverse
membership both in terms of consulting services provided
and in terms of years in the consulting business, our
members wealth of experience can be drawn upon for this
topic. Why listen to someone who makes a
living telling consultants how to sell business when you
can actually learn from the people that having been
doing it? The items that each participant
needs to be able to respond to are along the lines of:
-
How do you
identify what products and services your firm
offers? How have those product and services
changed over time?
-
How do you
identify potential prospects or leads for your
products and services?
-
How do you
secure the business? Verbal/written proposals? Sole
source?
-
Thinking
about your consulting business, how have your business
development activities changed?
Come prepared
to participate. If this session is well received, we are
tentatively planning on holding a separate meeting on
proposal development later in the year. This dinner
meeting will include full audience introductions and
the usual networking (mingle) opportunity. During this
meeting you will be able to introduce yourself while
making connections with others. So get your
elevator speeches up to date! Bring plenty of
business cards and make you connections
count!
As a
reminder, the fee for the dinner and program is $25.00
for members and $30.00 for non-members. ($5...just one
more reason to become a member!). We will
appreciate knowing in advance if you will be joining
us. Responding to this email with a simple yes or
no is greatly appreciated. |

Meeting
Calendar
We have developed our initial meeting
calendar for the upcoming year with tentative topics for
most of the meetings. One item that is different
this year is that we will be holding some outreach
programs in different areas of the state in order to
attract some new and existing members and guests to our
meetings. We need existing member attendance at
these meetings to help recruit new members.
